How early should I arrive?
If you have signed your liability waiver before your flight, showing up 10 – 15 minutes before your scheduled flight should be perfect. If nobody is in the office at the time of your arrival, please make yourself comfortable as the pilot is likely out on another tour and will return soon.
- How many people can go at a time?
We are capable of carrying a maximum of five passengers plus one pilot comfortably and safely per flight.
- Will we still be able to go if it's raining or there's bad weather?
Weather is a tricky one sometimes, and while in other parts of Portland the weather is good, it may not be as good in Troutdale or the Gorge. Flying is our business, so the decision to cancel or postpone a flight doesn’t come easy.
The pilot will make the final call as to whether or not the flight will operate and will be the best judge of conditions. The pilot will only cancel the flight if the weather is deemed to jeopardize the safety of the flight. If your flight is cancelled due to weather, we will reschedule you for a time of your choosing.
- What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations or a change of tour request must be requested at least 48-hours prior to your departure date/time. Cancellations and/or change to reservation made within 48-hours of tour are non-refundable and will be charged in full. Parties who are late by 15 minutes or more without notice are considered no-shows and refunds will not be given.
Your safety and the safety of our crew is our primary concern. All flights are subject to weather, runway conditions, regulatory considerations, and pilot and aircraft availability. All flights depart at the pilot’s discretion, and Envi Adventures and its employees assume no responsibility for any and all loss or liability arising from any flight delays or cancellations as a result of weather, mechanical discrepancies, regulatory restrictions, or any other circumstance.
Weather cancellations will be made at the discretion of Envi Adventures.
**Quicksand Triangle air tours may be subject to alternate routes if weather conditions do not permit flights to mountain.**
To request a refund, please have the booking customer contact us at [email protected] with with your booking number. Cancellation requests made by customer due to weather are not valid for refund. A customer requested reschedule within 12-hours of departure date/time will incur a $50 rescheduling fee.
****Tours and vouchers purchased through affiliate websites or during a promotion with discounts over 10% in savings are non-refundable. Gift certificates/gift cards are non-refundable. Purchases made during sales such as Black Friday & Cyber Monday are non-refundable. These items are available for reschedule without a change fee.***
- How do we pay? Do you accept cash?
We accept payment for flights via our online booking portal on our website and accept all major credit cards. We also take credit/debit card payment at our location, or over the phone. Sorry, we do not accept cash, checks, or even I.O.U.’s.
- Why are you guys so expensive?
Simply put, we’re not. On some of our flights, we offer per person pricing if you’re going solo. If you want a private flight for up to three people, you can purchase that option for a fixed rate. Flying an airplane isn’t cheap, but we have taken great lengths to ensure that flights are affordable and the experience is completely memorable.
- Can a child sit on the lap of an adult?
A child may only sit on the lap of an adult at no additional cost if they are under 2 years old. We also HIGHLY recommend that you bring ear protection for younger children as our headsets may not fit them very well.
- Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, prior to the flight, we require someone from your party to sign a liability waiver. If you do not wish to sign the waiver, your flight will be cancelled (see cancellation policy).
- Is your aircraft safe?
Besides making sure your experience is beyond great, our number one priority is safety. We don’t take things lightly, and at the first sign of a problem, we make the necessary changes to ensure things are working properly. We regularly maintain the aircraft with certified aircraft mechanics and do so in accordance with regulations.
- Why should we choose to fly with you?
When you’re looking for things to do in Portland, we know there are a few other choices out there. But if you’re looking for something really different to do in Portland, that’s where we come in. Not only are we the only scenic flight business focused on showcasing the Columbia River Gorge, but we’re also the most affordable flight tour company. We work really hard to make it easy to create memories with your closest friends or loved ones.
- Can we bring food or drink on our flight?
Water is allowed on the flights, no problem. Please check with us before your flight if you want to bring other food or drink with you.
- How good is the pilot?
Our pilots are awesome! Not only are they commercially rated pilots with an amazing safety record, but they also have local experience and great stories. They will fly you around smoothly, answer your questions knowledgeably, and help make your entire experience the absolute best.
- Is it noisy?
It does get noisy, but we provide two-way communication headsets for each passenger to communicate with the pilot and to ask any questions along the way.
- What if I have a group larger than five people?
Unfortunately, we don’t have large enough aircraft at this time to accommodate that demand. But we can always do separate flights so everyone can enjoy a flight!
- Do you offer tours all year?
We do! We operate year-round (weather permitting) with daily options in the summer and a slightly reduced schedule from November 1 to March 1.
- Do you have any on-going deals?
Sure do. If you enter code #FLYENVI at checkout, you will get 5% off your flight! Also, check out places like Travelzoo, Groupon, TripAdvisor, and Airbnb, where you may find better deals!
- What should I wear?
We recommend you consider the weather and dress accordingly. If it’s hot outside, it will be warm on the airplane, but will cool off once flying. The airplane has heat, so if it’s cold in the winter, just ask the pilot to adjust the temperature as needed.
- Who operates the aircraft?
All Envi branded flights are operated by an FAA certified operator. Some flights are operated directly by Envi Adventures, LLC, while other flights are operated by partner operators working under the Envi brand.
