When it rains…go outside
Like it or not, rain is a regular in Oregon. I think that’s pretty well known and established. But just because it rains doesn’t mean you just sit inside and mope about. In Portland, our summers are usually incredibly pleasant with temperatures rolling over that 100º mark (thankfully). That’s not to say it doesn’t get…
Favorite summer time hikes
Hey there. Corey with Envi Adventures here. If you like the smell of crisp, fresh water, a gentle breeze, and the warmth of a setting sun, then a summertime hike in the Columbia River Gorge is just what you need. Whether you’re from Portland, Oregon or just visiting, a hike is a great way to…
Coming together for a great cause.
On Thursday May 23rd, we hosted our summer kickoff party with Dollar For. If you don’t know who they are, that’s fine, but you should get acquainted. People were excited to get the chance to go on a flight for $15 per person, and that excitement brought people an hour early…which is always a…
Even when the weather sucks…
Believe it or not, it tends to rain in Portland from time to time. I know…shocking. But that doesn’t (usually) stop us from doing what we do. Just for your information, we have a 94% completion rate of all of our flights. The only reason we have to cancel/reschedule is due to high winds or…
We’re turning one!
On Sunday April 1st, we will hit the one-year mark flying around Portland on private airplane tours and what a year it has been! We’ve met people from places like England, Germany, Australia, South Korea, and Denmark. We’ve hosted people from dozens of different states, and have completed nearly 280 flights so far! While that doesn’t seem like a lot, we’re quite pleased with the result seeing as many assumed we wouldn’t even get one. But, here we are, still here and still flying, and making that number get even higher! We’re excited for the next year with ideas on what to do next. We realize that when people come to Portland, they think of Portland-centric branded t-shirts and donuts, but we hope that we get added to that brainstorming on what to do in your travels. There are…
New year, new views.
Hi there, Corey Rust with Envi Adventures. 2017 was a great year. Met a lot of great people, shared some great sunsets with people, and enjoyed beautiful Oregon weather through the Columbia River Gorge, over Downtown Portland, and up toward Mt. Hood. But that year is over, and we’re into 2018…as I’m sure you already…
Unbelievably…it’s already fall and winter’s around the corner.
Hello again. Corey Rust here with Envi Adventures. Remember when you were a kid and time crawled. Especially when waiting for those exciting events like birthdays, Halloween or Christmas, school to get out. Then you grow up, you blink, and you completely miss it. Such is life. Here at Envi Adventures we’re looking back on our excellent first summer of flying around Portland, through the Columbia River Gorge, and past Mt. Hood. With the fires that ripped through the gorge at the beginning of September, we, along with everyone else, didn’t know what to expect in the aftermath. Remarkably and in spite of the imagery seen on the news, the gorge has some scars but is still pretty good looking! As the leaves start to change colors, temperatures begin to drop, and days grow shorter, we fly on. Yes, we…
What a summer!
Corey Rust here for Envi Adventures. We have had an incredibly great summer flying so far. We’ve met some great people and have seen some really great stuff. Around here, we love flying no matter what time of year, but summer of course always makes for wonderful flights. As we continue towards the end of summer and into fall and winter, we need to remind you that we don’t stop just because the sun sets a little earlier. We’re Oregonians! We don’t stop for a little rain. Come on. Coming up in October we will be doing our first ‘Portland Pumpkins’ route and we are absolutely excited about this! Curious what it is? Well, I’ll tell you…. Your flight will take off from the Troutdale Airport and head over toward Portland’s Sauvie Island. That in and of itself isn’t all…
Happy 4th!
Hey, Corey Rust here with Envi Adventures. Everybody loves the 4th of July! It’s the Christmas of summer with family and friend gatherings for barbecues, camping on the mountain, boating on the river, and everyone’s favorite…blowing up cheap Chinese made explosives. Nothing says freedom better than that. But when we think about the 4th, we also think of the sacrifice so many have made to maintain the freedoms we do have. These incredible men and women go where they’re called without second guessing even though the conflict might not even make sense. They go with courage and the respect of millions. So to those who go downtown and protest whatever it is they’re protesting, yelling and screaming at each other over petty disagreements, try shutting up for a second and think about the fact that there’s a young and courageous…
Go do something different.
Hey, Corey Rust for Envi Adventures. Summer time. Vacations. Traveling. It’s what people look forward to for months and months. But when people plan a trip, they plan to do the cliche stuff. In Portland, everyone goes to VooDoo Doughnuts, PIttock Mansion, and Multnomah Falls. Nothing wrong with that. But did you know there are in fact other things to do? Yep. In the Columbia River Gorge alone, in addition to the ever famous Multnomah Falls, there are 74 other waterfalls, 54 separate hiking trails, and 21 parks! That’s a whole week of activity right there! Here’s the problem– everybody knows how incredible the gorge is. That’s why 4 million people visit Multnomah Falls every year. There’s nothing like being stuck in the car and battling crowds while using up that hard earned vacation time. So here’s an idea, fly…
