What do you picture when you think of the Pacific Northwest? Lush green forests? Cloudy skies? Well, you’re not wrong. Those gorgeous earth tones and color palettes are just a fraction of the beauty in this United States region. If you’re not picturing rain, add that to your mental image, but don’t let it detract…

Around the world, everybody loves summer…or at least warm, pleasant weather. I mean, why wouldn’t you? Days are longer, mornings are warm, hanging out on the patio with friends at night chatting until the wee hours, it’s great. But there is something alluring about the change of summer to fall with crisp mornings and warm…

Rain. It’s a way of life in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Sort of. When people think of Oregon and Washington, they assume the entire state is made up of lush forests, moss, and ferns but in reality, only about 1/3 of the state is like that. Head over the mountains into Central and Easter…

Do you ever just have those weeks that are so much fun, filled with excitement, maybe a little uncertainty, and everything just works out as well as it possibly could? That was this week for me and for our hokey little air tour business in Troutdale. First, we had a great visit from Zach Roloff…

Have you ever been friends with someone who doesn’t like waterfalls? If you have, you should probably end the friendship relatively soon. In Oregon, we are kind of spoiled with at least 238 waterfalls in the state. Near Portland in the Columbia River Gorge is apparently the highest concentration of waterfalls of anywhere in the…

Like it or not, rain is a regular in Oregon. I think that’s pretty well known and established. But just because it rains doesn’t mean you just sit inside and mope about. In Portland, our summers are usually incredibly pleasant with temperatures rolling over that 100º mark (thankfully). That’s not to say it doesn’t get…

It’s been said that summer in the Pacific Northwest is unbeatable. I don’t know about that, but what I do know is that it beats the hellish heat of places like Las Vegas, Phoenix, or Dallas. All in all, summers in Oregon are pretty incredible. Especially early summer when everything is still vibrant and green,…

On Thursday May 23rd, we hosted our summer kickoff party with Dollar For. If you don’t know who they are, that’s fine, but you should get acquainted. People were excited to get the chance to go on a flight for $15 per person, and that excitement brought people an hour early…which is always a very good sign that the event will be a good success. From 5:45 on, people kept rolling in purchasing flights, raffle tickets, and dipping their card for a great cause– raising money for Dollar For. Dollar For helps to forgive medical debts for people in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Jared Walker is the man behind the cause and he has helped raise nearly a million dollars in 2019! Way to go, Jared. On Thursday night, we added $8,000 to that bucket, and we couldn’t…

Believe it or not, it tends to rain in Portland from time to time. I know…shocking. But that doesn’t (usually) stop us from doing what we do. Just for your information, we have a 94% completion rate of all of our flights. The only reason we have to cancel/reschedule is due to high winds or…
